Are you someone with?
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, or equivalent) – preferred
Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience, preferably within financial services industry

Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Maintain the general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and supporting schedules to ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and reporting schedules in accordance with internal deadlines and reporting requirements.
Review and analyse income, expenditure, balance sheet movements, and financial performance to identify variances and provide clear explanations.
Monitor cash flow, bank balances, and reconciliations to support effective cash management and accurate financial reporting.
Support budget preparation, budget tracking, and variance analysis by providing accurate financial data and timely reporting insights.
Assist with the preparation of year-end financial reports, audit schedules, and supporting documentation for external audit and management review.
Compliance & Controls
Ensure compliance with PNG statutory reporting requirements, including tax, superannuation, regulatory filings, and other applicable financial obligations.
Prepare, review, and maintain supporting documentation for statutory returns, audit requests, regulatory reviews, and internal compliance checks.
Support the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of financial controls, accounting procedures, approval processes, and internal reporting requirements.
Identify accounting, compliance, or control issues and escalate them promptly with recommended corrective actions where appropriate.
Assist with external audits by preparing schedules, responding to audit queries, and ensuring records are complete, accurate, and audit ready.
Operational Support
Support the day-to-day processing and review of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely recording.
Prepare, post, and review journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and month-end accounting entries in line with approved procedures.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and follow up on outstanding items to support accurate financial reporting.
Maintain accurate financial data, records, and supporting documentation for reporting, audit, compliance, and management review purposes.
Provide practical accounting and operational support to the Manager, Accounts and Administration, Finance Manager, and relevant internal teams as required.
Stakeholder Support
Liaise with auditors, tax advisers, banks, and regulators as required
Support internal stakeholders with financial information and financial data analysis
Key Relationships
Internal: Finance Manager, Executive Management, Risk & Compliance
External: Auditors, Consultants, Service providers, regulators.
